I can provide a range of skills and experience, based on a career of working with multi national Companies in senior and influential leadership Human Resources roles. Latterly in my career, I worked with Motorola's Semiconductor Sector business, in a number of positions and countries. At that time Motorola was an outstandingly successful Corporation which provided exceptional growth opportunities for my personal and leadership development. Initially I was the H.R. Director for the U.K. and was promoted to become the European H.R. Director based in Geneva, Switzerland. This was followed by a transfer to the United States where I was involved in a highly successful Joint venture between Motorola and Siemens in Virginia, and finally I became the Global Director for the Wireless business based in Austin Texas. This leadership role involved me in all our global locations including our increasingly important investments across Asia, including China and India. During these years I had the opportunity of becoming an influential business Partner with a number of tough minded and bottom line driven business leaders and contributed to the business success by challenging and supporting a positive people culture which led to business success. Performance management and excellence were at the heart of how we did business with an absolute commitment to having the best people and where holding people accountability for results with powerful consequences for success and failure was a way of life.

My personal values of staying close to my family and friends led me to decide to return home to Scotland ten years ago. My last assignment was responsibility for diagnosing organisation effectiveness/ disfunctionality in Eastern European countries such as Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Czech and challenging and influencing critical changes to organisation practices principally on significant leadership issues.

Following my corporate career I continue to have a passion about helping people grow and develop. I am highly effective in close and personal relationships at all levels built on trust, respect and constructive feedback, challenging leaders and leadership teams and individuals to develop greater self awareness and achieve clarity of purpose.

Clients include one of the leading companies in Financial Services in the U.K., Standard Life including Standard Life Investments, where I have been the personal coach to the C.E.O. and his leadership team. My skills transcend any sector or business.

Client Interventions

PERSONAL COACHING:

Powerful coaching both one on one for individual Leaders and also Leadership Teams. These comprise several sessions with individuals with a clear focus on goals and outcomes which bring clarity of purpose and significant personal and leadership development and growth.

COACHING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT:

Workshops to develop highly practical coaching skills in leadership and improving their ability to lead their people more effectively within the context of leadership culture change. These workshops include opportunities for powerful feedback on each individual's practice of coaching and impacts the development of personal skills and learning for participants.

COACHING ON PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP - Workshops on Emotional Intelligence to develop powerful self awareness and effectiveness in inter personal relationships and will power and determination to succeed.

These Workshops are based on a strong philosophy of being highly practical. This is not conventional Training which is ineffective in achieving lasting change but rather is based on a powerful coaching approach and achieves lasting personal growth through practice, learning and insightful feedback to facilitate improvement and change.. Helping develop personal leadership skills in managing performance. How to assess and differentiate performance / potential. How to make performance management an integral part of a leader's life and embed this practice into the culture of the company. Highly practical content based on real experience as opposed to text book learning. Developing a systematic approach to addressing performance management with clarity around expectation setting, effective review and feedback skills and how to leverage essential accountability and consequences as a means of achieving results. This includes practical skills development in the art of giving and receiving Feedback and skills development in the art of having "Tough Conversations".

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE WORKSHOP:

To develop powerful self awareness and effectiveness in inter personal relationships and will power and determination to succeed. Brings clarity to the critical importance of being emotionally aware, the power of being resilient and how to significantly increase personal effectiveness in achieving one's personal goals.

All of these Workshops are based on a strong philosophy of being highly practical to make a difference to each participant's personal effectiveness. Independent diagnosis and assessment of clarity of Mission, Strategies, Structures and Roles and Responsibilities, Leadership effectiveness, Succession Planning , Analysis of internal processes e.g. decision making, communications, Recognition systems, Culture. This diagnosis results in holding up the, " Mirror of Truth ", to leadership to achieve improved effectiveness and bottom line results.

Establish and facilitate an Organization and Talent Management Review living process with leadership ownership for driving actions, including identification of Top Talent by assessment of performance/ potential, identification of poor performance and development of systematic action plans and follow up. This living process becomes a critical factor in achieving people and business success.
